Web Optimisation

Web Optimisation

Web optimisation (often referred to as search engine optimisation or SEO) refers to the designing of websites (and their individual pages) to achieve the best possible placing in the most common search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Despite what many companies offer, web optimisation is a time consuming process - it doesn't just happen overnight. Careful adjustments, changes to page content and link building gradually increase the ranking of a website and its pages - it can be several months before a website truly shows improvement.

However, the value of web optimisation cannot be over-stated enough - a web page appearing in the top 20 to 30 places of a major search engine will see a massive jump in traffic.

Web Horizons aims for the top 20 for a search term at the minimum and often achieves much higher placing for our clients selected keywords.

Obviously this is totally dependent on the phrase to be optimised - something like 'computers' is going to be impossible to get high up the rankings (there are already several hundred thousand websites related to this), where as 'computer sales derbyshire' has a much greater potential.
